Which Autoresponder Should You Choose?
Before you can decide which autoresponder software to use, you need to think about what you actually want to do with the software.
- Do you just want a simple reply so that your customer knows you've got their email and will deal with it soon?
- Do you want a series of emails to go out to your contact list over a period of days, weeks or months?
- Do you want your customers to be able to sign up to your follow-up autoresponder by email, a web form or both?
- How much information about themselves do you want your customers to give you before you 'allow' them to sign up?
- Do you want your customers to be have to confirm their sign-up before they get any future messages?
- If the autoresponder is to be used in an order process, do you want your customer to be automatically transferred to a new autoresponder list once they've purchased?
- Do you want the ability to be able to broadcast special messages to your subscribers?
- How much technical knowledge do you have? Easy autoresponders can usually be set up in a few minutes.
- How much time are you willing to spend setting up your autoresponder?
- Do you want to keep the autoresponder on your own computer, your own site or would you prefer to delegate all the day-to-day administration of your auto responder to someone else?
- How much are you prepared to pay to do all this?
